WHAT IF... WE LIVE WITHOUT PLASTICS?

What is the trash can that you fill before? Surely it's the plastic one. I, at least, with the amount of Coke that I drink per day...

In July 2011, a team of researchers on waste from the Western Metropolitan Regional Council in Western Australia, challenged to live a month without plastic, at least without the useless plastic. This is how Plastic Free July came about, a campaign that has become international and that pursues that each month of July we propose that challenge.

So, I decided to buy with less plastics, as in the drinks would be practically impossible, I decided to look for how to dress without plastics. Here are some tips that I discovered:

1. Make sure that there is no material on the garment label that starts with "poly" because this material comes from oil. But we don´t confuse with biopolymers, which are synthetic but created from renewable materials such as corn or sugar cane.

2. Buy directly in physical store to avoid plastics in the delivery and make sure you do not get unnecessary bag or wrap. And if you can, buy on the local markets, since you will also be benefiting artisans.

3. Use organic natural fabrics such as organic cotton or tencel. So, in addition to dressing without plastic, you will avoid the use of petroleum based chemicals.

I leave you a link to a website of two guys who can put the waste of a year in two jars, and still have plenty of space! :

And you? Do you propose any advice to reduce the plastic in my day to day?
